Tab Icons

Tab Icons is a Backdrop module that lets you assign core icon glyphs to local task tabs. It reuses the Menu Icon picker for browsing icons, stores per-tab assignments, and can hide tab text on small screens so icons fill the tabs cleanly. Use the admin page at admin/structure/tab-icons to pick and save icons.
